An exhibition entitled "Works on Paper," featuring works by Ed Moses '58, was on view at the Bobbie Greenfield Gallery, Santa Monica, California, last fall.

Charles Garabedian '61 had a solo exhibition at L.A. Louver Gallery, Venice, California, in March.

"Resolutions: A Stitch in Time," a collaborative art project by Judy Chicago '62, is on view this spring at the Edmonton Art Gallery, Alberta, Canada.

The Frumkin/Duval Gallery in Bergamot Station, Santa Monica, California, featured a solo show of works by Olga Seem '63 (née Kooyman) in March. Seem is an art professor at Los Angeles City College.

A solo exhibition of works by Tony Berlant '64 was on view at the Peter Blake Gallery, Orange County, California, last fall. He also had work on view at L.A. Louver Gallery, Venice, California, earlier this year.

"Artists Respond to Terrorism," a
benefit art exhibition in Venice, California, in October, included works by Tony Berlant '64, Erik Otsea '84, Jan Tumlir '85, Judy Kameon '86, Lee Scheinbaum '86, Nelsen Valentine '86, and Kim McCarty '88.

Randy Newman '65 won this year's Academy Award for best song for "If I Didn't Have You" from the film "Monsters, Inc." He has received 16 Academy Award nominations during his career.

Lita Albuquerque '68 has been commissioned to create artwork for the new Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, currently under construction in Los Angeles.

Paul Minicucci '69 is deputy director of the California Arts Council and serves on the board of the Western States Arts Federation.

The Rosamund Felson Gallery, Santa Monica, California, featured a solo show last summer by Karen Carson '71 called "Making the Seen."

James Doolin '71 was a recipient of the Flintridge Foundation's 2001/2002 Award for Visual Artists, which includes an unrestricted grant of $25,000.

The Los Angeles Chamber Singers, under the musical direction of Peter Rutenberg '73, performed in a program, "Pearls on Sand: The Japanese-American Connection," at UCLA's Schoenberg Hall in early May. The concert featured music composed by Naomi Sekiya '96.

Vija Celmins '75 is one of the artists represented in the 2002 Biennial Exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. Her work was also shown in New York last year at the McKee Gallery.
