Asia Pacific Performance Exchange (APPEX) Workshop

APPEX is an international artist workshop that promotes cross-cultural and interdisciplinary understanding; develops rigorous strategies for art-making that reflect the nuances of cultural differences; and fosters new ways to interpret artistic expression, experimentation, and collaboration.

Daily sessions by the artists for each other will vividly illustrate a diverse range of stylistic and conceptual approaches. Video showings, master classes, and informal presentations will provide background and contextual information which will lead to opportunities for improvisations and small group collaborative activities. Informal discussion sessions will enhance each artist's ability to understand and incorporate various cultural perspectives into their own work.

Learn how to apply to become an APPEX Artist or Writer.

APPEX has been made possible by the Ford Foundation with additional support from the Asian Cultural Council and the Burma Project/Open Society Institute.
